THE LEVIBE

Levi-Jane Thornton grew up on Cheshire Street in East London, where every Sunday the road transformed into a bustling flea market. As a child, she would wake to the sound of traders setting up their stalls, their treasures spread across the car bonnets outside her window. With the street too crowded to drive, the only option was to wander—digging through antiques, oddities, and forgotten relics. That early exposure to objects with character and history shaped her eyes forever.

Her appetite for adventure grew just as instinctively. By her early twenties, she had traveled solo for one year across Southeast Asia and, at just 21, opened a bar in Dalt Vila, Ibiza, called The Library. The intimate space quickly became a local hotspot, hosting the weekly pre-party for renowned DJ Jamie Jones’s Paradise series. It earned a centerfold feature in Pacha Magazine and was dubbed the cool kidsbar”— a must-see destination on the island. It was a fearless move, and an early glimpse of what would one day become The Levibe.

That early success wasn’t just about nightlife—it revealed something deeper: a fascination with how spaces make people feel. Whether it was a bar, a market stall, or a makeshift dance floor, Levi-Jane has an instinct for creating energy, mood, and connection. It was this sensitivity to atmosphere that would quietly become the foundation for everything that followed.

The philosophy behind The Levibe was born from a life spent moving between worlds—film sets, art installations, immersive experiences, high-end event production, and historic restoration projects across the globe.

Levi-Jane began her creative career in film and television production in London, working at the acclaimed production company ACME under Oscar-nominated creative director Jamie D'Cruz. There, she began shaping ideas into visuals, deepening her understanding of narrative, balance, and quiet detail—while also learning the rhythms of production itself: timelines, logistics, and the unglamorous but essential art of pulling it all together.

This foundation evolved naturally into work with Banksy’s in-house production company, Pest Control, where she helped bring to life provocative, large-scale immersive experiences like Dismaland.

After relocating to Los Angeles, Levi-Jane became part of the founding creative team behind the Bombay Beach Biennale, expanding her practice into immersive and atmospheric event design. Alongside her role at the private members’ hotel Petit Ermitage—a property known for its rich, bohemian character—her understanding of mood, detail, and story deepened.

Over time, her passion evolved from creating temporary worlds to building lasting ones. She immersed herself in home construction, learning the foundations of design from the ground up. But it was restoration—the art of breathing life back into forgotten spaces—that truly captured her heart.

Her recent projects include the revival of a 1940s Hollywood Hills mid-century home, where she preserved as much of the original architecture as possible while reimagining the layout for modern living. Natural textures, moody tones, and sculptural vintage furnishings—sourced from her favorite hidden corners of LA—breathe new life into the space, creating a dialogue between past and present.

Alongside this, she led the transformation of the iconic Kodak Building in Los Angeles, meticulously reimagining the once-crumbling landmark into a sleek, modern office space—its Art Deco spirit honored, its future redefined.

"When I first walked in, it was heartbreaking—the building was in ruins," Levi-Jane reflects. "But beneath the dust, I saw its soul."

Balancing preservation with reinvention, Levi-Jane salvages original design elements wherever possible, blending them with contemporary touches to create interiors that feel timeless, soulful, and alive.

A passionate collector and vintage sourcer, Levi-Jane's creative process often begins in Los Angeles’ flea markets and hidden vintage shops. It’s here she finds the rare, storied pieces that anchor her designs—items with a past, a patina, and a sense of belonging. Every object is selected not simply for beauty, but for the emotion it carries.

Rather than adhering to a fixed aesthetic, The Levibe is governed by context, feeling, and narrative. Every project is uniquely tailored—whether reimagining a Hollywood Hills estate, reviving an Art Deco landmark, or curating layered interiors rich with texture and memory.

The Levibe isn’t just about how a space looks—it’s about how it makes you feel. It’s the subtle thread of memory, the energy of something reimagined, and the quiet sense of connection that comes when design is rooted in story. From first sketch to final detail, every project is a thoughtful expression of place, time, and mood. It’s design that stays with you—long after you’ve walked away

The Levibe is not just a look — it’s a feeling, a narrative, a lifestyle.
